Cutest little diaper creation!

A couple of weeks ago some of the girls that I taught with at challenger got together and had a little shower/party for me. I didn't take any pictures at the party, but when I got home I had to take a picture of this little "diaper cake" that my friend Steph made for me. It was so dang cute, I really hate to take it apart!

Christmas.

Once again Christmas has come and gone. Crazy how fast it goes by. Bret and I had a good Christmas this year making the rounds to visit the family. My mother-in-law from Oregon was even able to spend it with us this year. It was fun making yummy food and watching Christmas movies. The holidays are so much more when you can spend it with family. I'm so thankful that Bret and I both have family that live close by.

Christmas Eve...Bret and his mom making cookies before we left to go to Lance's house.

Thanks Lance and Denise for having us over, and the good food!!

After Lance's house we headed over to Bret's sister's who lives in lehi. Forgot to take pictures there. She also had lots of delicious treats to eat! Thanks Shana!

Carolyn opening presents Christmas morning.

Then off to my Mom and Quenten's house. Thanks for the cute little toy for "junior"! (guess we need to get crackin' on a name for our baby that is due in 1 WEEK!)

Then back over to Shana and Kevin's house for a quick visit. When we got there they had made this amazing slide out of snow in the front yard. Complete with steps even! The pictures really don't show how awesome it was.

We missed those of you who live out of town. Hope you all had a great Christmas!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I have to say that I'm pretty darn proud of ourselves for getting our tree up so early this year! Bret put the tree up Thanksgiving night, and the decorations went on a couple days later. Never I have been more excited for Christmas!! We are so close to having our little family, and the thought of next Christmas makes me even more excited! Nothing like sharing Christmas with a child. (ok, so he'll only be a year old, but still...) Not much longer now till he's here! I'm still feeling great...in fact sometimes I feel like there is something wrong with me. Why do I feel so good?? Why don't I feel awful like most pregnant women who are in their last month? Actually, ya know what?....I'm not gonna complain! ;)

Let it snow!!! (...but not too much please)

I guess winter is officially here (ok, technically it's still fall). This is what we woke up to this morning.

Bret was out snow blowing the minute he woke up.

He came inside to shower and get ready for work, and the driveway was completely covered again.

Round 2 (this time with the shovel)...

Luckily I have nowhere I need to be today.
Folks, be thankful for your flat driveways!

Belly.

It seems like since I've been pregnant I get loads of advice (whether I've asked for it or not!). But I have to say, one thing is very true that I've been told. It's that my tummy will seem to have grown overnight. That is exactly what I feel like has happened. Unfortunately I have no pictures of my belly before now. It's too bad, I'm sure I'll want to look back and remember what I was like. Next time for sure I will document my pregnancy a little better.

I've had a few comments about my lack of belly pictures on here. (Ahem...Kim!) My sister-in-law, Jamie, took these while we were visiting her in Vegas.

California.

Each year Bret and I travel to a different place for conferences that he attends for work. This year it was in California. It was especially fun this time because the new P.A. that Bret's group hired was there with his wife. Jaron and Liz are really good friends of ours, and we had so much fun with them there! We spent the week with them seeing the sites, eating, and shopping (but mostly eating). we even made it to Universal Studios even though I couldn't do much (being knocked up and all), but I managed to get in on a couple of rides. Poor Bret, I don't think he could even enjoy himself. He was pretty worried about me (which I thought was kinda sweet). We were going to try to do Disneyland, but after Universal Studios we changed our minds. Oh well, we'll save that for when junior is big enough to enjoy it with us.

Unfortunately I didn't get many great pictures. Most of them were at meal times. huh...go figure.

We even met a star! (101 Dalmations...I think??)

The 4 of us....eating.

ok..not seriously. Bret was a little (a lot) embarrased.

Cheesecake Factory. Bret always orders the biggest desert item on the menu. He couldn't just settle for a regular slice of cheesecake.

Quick visit in Vegas.

Bret's sister, Jamie and her family live in Las Vegas. Since that is along the way to CA, we thought we'd make a trip to visit them too. We flew to Vegas and spent the night with them on the way there and back. It was quick but fun. We swam in their pool, and Bret's niece, Cassidy, had 2 soccer games that we were able to go to. She totally kicked butt by the way. I was really impressed! Way to go, Cass!!

Heehee...there's a good chance Bret won't be speaking to me tonight.

I don't have a picture of the kids all together, so here's one of each of them. Such a cute family...

Little miss Carly.

Cheyenne and Carly.

Dakota.

Cassidy.

I have no words for this. Just enjoy...
(What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...most of the time:)

Thanks for a fun trip, Jamie!

Good bye pre-school.

With a baby on the way, and the school year just starting Bret and I decided that I won't be returning to Challenger. I would've been quitting in December to stay home with the baby anyway, so what's a couple more months right? Although I am not about to complain about staying home, I can honestly say this was a hard decision to make. Last year was definitely NOT easy, but certainly rewarding. I thought better to bow out now, than to become attached to a new class and then have to leave suddenly. Now I can just enjoy these last few months and get things ready for our new little family member.

Adoption...

This is "officially" my friend Jennifer's daughter, Kaydance. I taught with Jennifer last year at Challenger and we became really close. The adoption hearing was this morning downtown. She had asked me if I would be there. It was really sweet, and of course (and I blame this purely on pregnancy hormones;) I cried. I was so happy for them.

This is Kaydance. She looked so cute in her new dress that her mommy got her just for this special day...

And their cute family of 4 now!

OH BOY!

I probably should have posted this a long time ago! BUT....for those of you who didn't already know. I am finally gonna have a baby!!! It still seems so unreal to me! Every time I think about it I get butterflies in my stomach. We were hoping for a boy and I just can't believe he is really coming! I am a little over 5 months (21 weeks to be exact). We got to see him on Tuesday and he is just perfect. Bret will be such a good dad...and I cannot think of anything more perfect for him than a son. I know we would've felt just the same if it was a girl, but I've always kind of had a feeling that a boy would be our first. Ever since I found out in April that I'm pregnant it warms my heart to think about how are lives will be changing. It is such a relief to know that he is healthy with no problems. We are so thrilled to start our little family! We are blessed.

Grandpa's new best friend.

Bret's grandparents were here visiting. This time they were able to stay for almost 2 weeks! I think Indie got a little attached to Grandpa (and maybe the other way around too!).

This is where Grandpa spent most of his time. He went through 2 books. It was so cute to see Indie plopped right next to him.

6th anniversary!

6 reasons why I love Bret..

1. He's so so smart. I'm always so amazed at his knowledge! His brain works in a way I cannot even fathom!

2. He is such a hard worker.

3. EVERYBODY loves him!

4. He knows how to do anything, I swear!

5. He's an amazing cook.

6. He loves me.

Happy anniversary, Honey! I love you even more than I did 6 years ago!!!

Mr. and Mrs. Wood!!

Bret's little brother, Justin, got married last Friday to a super cute, sweet girl. We all love Carrie!!! Of course it was an outside reception on the hottest day of the year! But other than that it was a nice wedding, with a beautiful bride.

They were married in the Bountiful temple...

Lookin' pretty darn good, Justin!..

Congratulations guys!

"Woman of Wisdom"

Last week my mom invited me to a Relief Society dinner. The theme was "Women of Wisdom". There are only 5 "senior citizens" (hee hee I love calling her that) in her ward, and my lil' old mommy is one of them! There was a little spotlight for each one of them that their husbands put together in secret. It was fun (and funny too!) to hear about each one of them.

Love you momma!

Angel Moroni

I got a phone call this morning from my sis-in-law, Denise. She told me that she was at the new Draper temple and that they were about to put the statue Angel Moroni on. I live pretty close to it so I went down, and about a half hour later they started. I was able to get some pictures of it. I'm really glad that I got a chance to see that. Thanks for calling, Denise!

"You complete me..."

This is very normal at our house. I just happen to catch it on camera this time.

Our new friends.

A few days ago I was doing laundry and looked up out the window and I saw this guy. Well, that's really not that uncommon where we live but the wierd thing is when my dog saw him she went crazy (like she does every time she sees a living thing outside)and it didn't get scared and run away. Now I'm sure that deer heard (and saw) Indie running from window to window practically breaking through them. I thought that was a little strange since they usually get one glance at us and run off...like deer usually do right? Well not this one. So I thought I'd go out there to see what it would do if I came a little closer. When I did that it looked up at me long enough for me to take the picture and then just continued eating. So of course I went even closer to see what it would do...STILL nothing. I have never seen a deer do that before! They are usually long gone before I even have a chance to grab the camera! Well, I think Mr. Deer likes it here because he has come back every day since then.

Between that deer and these little guys (there are at least 6 more that aren't in the pic) who live in the rocks out there, Indie is like a bomb waiting to go off.
